Rooms:
Artistically designed and furnished by experts, the walls are
decorated with mural paintings. The rooms are made more
attractive with bamboo blinds instead of ordinary curtains, weaved
by Uravu, an NGO promoting tribal handicrafts. Even from the time
of construction more space have been given to utilization of locally
available materials and application of indigenous technologies.
The facilities were not only in tune with the parameters of the
District Tourism Promotion Council but are even in tune with updated
stipulations of the next decades.
The dexterity of local craftsmen could be felt at each portion
of the house. The hand-railing of the staircase were made of coconut
wood. Most of the furniture was made of cane. The ultra modern
products like plastic and artificial fiber, endangering the ecosystem,
have been meticulously kept at bay.
Location: The Wayanad Home Stay is located at Kalpetta,
